Hi, we are Ada and Maria! For one week, we had the opportunity to be interns at Biosofa, where we got a behind-the-scenes look at how conventional and sustainable furniture is designed and created.

Getting to Know Biosofa

On our first day, we learned more about how Biosofa works as a company and were introduced to the different steps involved in creating a sofa. We also explored the differences between a conventional sofa and a Biosofa, and learned why the choice of materials plays such an important role in creating more sustainable furniture.It was fascinating to dive deeper into the topic and discover how many individual decisions and processes are involved in creating a piece of furniture.

Exploring Materials and Marketing

During our internship, we also had the chance to create three videos for BioSofa's Instagram account. In the videos, we explained how different materials used in a Biosofa work and what makes them special.

This was a great opportunity for us to learn more about the materials themselves while also getting an insight into how marketing and social media are used by a company like Biosofa. It was exciting to see how information about sustainable furniture can be turned into engaging content for an audience.

Discovering Italian Design in Milan

One of the highlights of our internship was spending two days in Milan exploring the world of Italian design. We visited the Triennale Milano and the ADI Design Museum, where we learned more about the history and development of Italian design.

Meeting and learning from different designers also gave us new perspectives on furniture design and helped us understand how many different approaches there are to creating furniture. We also visited a textile boutique, which showed us just how much of a difference the choice of fabric can make when designing a piece of furniture.

Our Experience at Biosofa

Overall, our week at Biosofa was a really interesting and inspiring learning experience. We gained a much better understanding of how furniture design works - from choosing materials and developing a sofa to marketing and communicating ideas about sustainability.

The whole Biosofa team was incredibly open, welcoming and supportive. They gave us the opportunity to explore different areas of the company and helped us gain valuable insights into the world of sustainable furniture design.

We are very grateful for the experience and loved our time at Biosofa!
